Thermography

Thermography is a non-invasive technique that uses infrared cameras to identify heat loss from residential buildings. It is an effective tool for identifying areas where heat is escaping, helping homeowners take corrective measures to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce energy bills.

Thermography can identify poorly insulated doors or window frames, which can cause significant heat loss. As these areas are often difficult to detect with the naked eye, thermography can be an effective way to locate them.

Draughts can also be identified through thermography, as gaps around doors and windows, as well as in walls, can let cold air into the building and cause heat loss. Thermography to locate these areas and suggest ways to seal them off.

Another common issue identified through thermography is gaps in loft insulation. If loft insulation is insufficient or has gaps, warm air can escape through the roof. By using thermography, professionals can identify these areas and suggest corrective measures, such as adding additional insulation or sealing gaps.
